Nuit Dense

"I wanted to know what would happen if I didn't stop. Most paintings tell you when they're finished. This one kept asking for more — more black, more texture, more weight. I kept going until the surface felt less like canvas and more like something that had taken years to form.

The gold was never added. It was uncovered. Somewhere in all that building and pressing and layering, it was always there. I just had to go deep enough to find it.

I wasn't painting darkness. I was painting density. There is a difference."
