"I think about cities sometimes when I paint — not their surfaces, but the logic underneath. The invisible grids that decide where a wall ends and a street begins. This painting started there: with structure, with intention. But the white refused the plan. It spread where it wanted, covered what it wanted, left visible only what insisted on remaining. What you see is the trame — the underlying order — half-buried, half-alive."
